I had a brilliant time photographing Claire and Jason’s wedding at the beautiful Wedderburn Barns in October last year. After such a rotten summer, it was nice to wake up to a lovely sunny day highlighting all the colours of autumn. I’m sure Claire and Jason were excited too as it meant that their ceremony could be held outside (yay!). They decided that they would both get ready in the separate cottages on the Wedderburn estate which meant I could photograph both of them in the morning and soak up some of the autumn sunshine in between.
Jason is Greek & Claire is Scottish so they managed to intertwine parts of their Greek & Scottish heritage throughout the day. Their Humanist ceremony (by the charming Brian Hawkins) included heart-warming readings (misty eyes for me too) with some traditional Greek Stefana (olive branch head-dresses) swapping. The place-names were all in Greek, olive branches decorated the tables, there were quite a few first-time kilt wearers and later on there was both a Ceilidh and a Zorba! So many personal touches were made or provided by friends and family of the couple. Claire’s brother Callum made the cake topper (one of my personal favourites) and Jason’s friend Brendan played guitar during the ceremony.
I think you can see just how in love this pair are from the photos.
Was a pleasure to capture it all.
