A couple of years ago I was introduced to Lynsay & Gordon through our mutual friend (and amazing photographer) Jo. I think the night we first met was a bit fuzzy (and the second… maybe even the third!) but we became pretty good friends. Also, Lynsay is my favourite shellac nail magician (yep, she is a magician)!
I was over the moon when a year later they asked if I would photograph their wedding! Now, I absolutely LOVE photographing weddings but this pair had seen me at my worst (partially their fault) and I always feel more nervous photographing people I know so I asked them a few times if they were sure…
Just to check, we planned a wee trial photo-shoot up Arthur’s Seat on one of the sunniest days of the year last spring. However, when we got there a thick fog – ‘the Haar’ – had descended and we could barely see a thing. A cheeky wee old man told us the view at the top was great so we persevered. Total lie unfortunately. We actually managed to get some great atmospheric (foggy) photos though and I was so pleased to see that they had chosen one of the photos as their ‘save the date’ card. Awww! So they booked me, yay!
Lynsay & Gordon got married in the Royal Botanical Gardens in Edinburgh and what a lovely day it was. Lynsay got ready in Malmaison at The Shore, Edinburgh and arrived in a white taxi with her Dad. They walked up to a lovely area amongst redwood trees where Gordon and all their guests awaited. It was SUCH a beautiful wedding filled with fun people and I was truly honoured to be able to photograph it for you both. I loved watching you guys get married and thanks for making me part of your day. Gushing over now – you’re probably sick of reading this – here are some of the highlights.
